Mid-year/Early Graduates

Hello, and congratulations on your early graduation! 🎉 We are excited to have you join us at Isothermal Community College! Thank you for choosing us.

As an early graduate, you have two people you’ll work with while onboarding to the college:

Diane Dickerson, Director of Enrollment — She can help you with your admissions, transcripts, and residency questions. Email admissions@isothermal.edu or call 828-395-1495.
Hannah Oxendine, Financial Aid Counselor — She’s the go-to for anything related to financial aid. Email Financialaid@isothermal.edu or call 828-395-1438.

Here’s what you need to do:

Complete your residency application: https://www.ncresidency.org/
Submit your application to Isothermal Community College: https://www.cfnc.org/
Order your in-progress transcript through CFNC.org: https://www.cfnc.org/
Complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA): FAFSA.gov (Make sure you fill out the 2024-2025 application. You can also do the 2025-2026 one too if you want.)

Just a heads-up, the process for early graduates is a little bit different because the education system is designed for traditional start times. Here’s what you need to know:

Your financial aid can’t be processed until we have your final high school transcript. For now, we can use your in-progress transcript. We also need confirmation from your high school senior counselor that you are graduating early. Once we have all that, Hannah will help you with your financial aid. Many ICC students qualify for federal and state aid through FAFSA. Students residing in Rutherford or Polk County who don't qualify for federal and state aid may still get free tuition and fees through the Powers Promise Scholarship.

After that, you’ll meet with your Faculty Mentor or your College Navigator to choose your classes. Since you are graduating early, the Registrar’s Office will register you for your classes after you meet either your Faculty Mentor or your College Navigator.

Lastly, make sure you send your final high school transcript to Admissions. Your final transcript will say Graduation instead of Expected Graduation.
